Celebrated homophobic icon Pastor Martin Sempa, the founder of Makerere Community Church, has been off the social scene and was very silent until recently.<\/p>\n
Reports reaching us from greater Entebbe reveal that the flamboyant pastor is embroiled in land grabbing scandal.<\/p>\n
The new Entebbe RDC Hajj Noor Njuki Mbabali has ordered Pastor Sempa to back off land measuring approximately 10 hectares located in Jungu village, Kasanje town Council, Wakiso district.<\/p>\n
The RDC\u2019s intervention followed complaints from residents led by Charles Zikwa, Stanley Mulondo and James Kato, who claim that in 2009 they agreed with Pastor Sempa to sell land to him at Shs120m and he (Sempa) paid cash of Shs26m promising to pay the remaining balance in instalments within a year.<\/p>\n
However, to their surprise the year elapsed and the man of God didn\u2019t pay the remaining balance of Shs94m.<\/p>\n
Instead he chose to fence off the said land and deployed armed security guards who residents accuse of battering them whenever they happen to step on the disputed land.<\/p>\n
During the visit on the disputed land weeks ago, Hajji Njuki, the Entebbe RDC, said the purchase agreement on which Pastor Sempa claims to have purchased the disputed land does not bear his signature.<\/p>\n
He thus ordered the aggrieved residents to reoccupy the contentious piece of land.<\/p>\n
The Entebbe District Internal Security Officer (DISO) who accompanied the RDC also added a voice by seconding the decision made by the RDC to halt the man of God from carrying out further activities on the disputed piece of land to avoid bloodshed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
