Kampala Police is investigating a situation in which a housemaid in Kiwatule a city suburb, who killed her own child, last evening.<\/p>\n
According to doctors at Mulago hospital, who examined the body, the maid cut out the baby\u2019s intestines and private parts, which she then threw away, before taking the child to the hospital.<\/p>\n
Harriet Nakalema, a neighbour in Balintuma zone says she the maid brought the one and half-year-old child from the village to live with her.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a suspected child sacrifice; the baby was brought in the morning to causality ward and the mother said the baby was diarrheating,\u201c explained Miriam Atoo, the CID, Wandegeya Police station.<\/p>\n
She added that; \u201cOn arrival the doctor said that the baby had died and the body was taken to the mortuary.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt around 8pm, the mother of the child started pressurizing the mortuary attendants that they wanted to take the body away.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen the post-mortem was done in the presence of our scene crime officer, we were called in and the doctor told us that the body parts are missing; the private parts, the intestines together with the kidney were all missing.<\/p>\n
