{"id":6047,"date":"2018-10-13T14:40:17","date_gmt":"2018-10-13T11:40:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=6047"},"modified":"2018-10-13T14:40:17","modified_gmt":"2018-10-13T11:40:17","slug":"save-and-invest-to-avoid-brokenness-kadaga-tells-mps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2018\/10\/13\/save-and-invest-to-avoid-brokenness-kadaga-tells-mps\/","title":{"rendered":"Save and invest To Avoid Brokenness \u2014 Kadaga tells MPs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has urged legislators who are members of the Parliamentary Savings Cooperative and Credit Society (SACCO) to concentrate on saving and building investments.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the SACCO\u2019s Annual General Meeting, Kadaga said MPs need to have focus, purpose and perseverance to save money and make good of what they have saved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been challenged by the younger generation; a young man called Biyomba gave a testimony at the national prayer breakfast of how he started a poultry business that eventually became his source of school fees and now he is worth over Ushs300 million,\u201d she said, further adding that, \u201cnot many of us have that money yet this 25 year old has it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kadaga urged the legislators to prepare for the post-election period to avoid financial embarrassment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe truth is there is no certainty after 2021; so plan as though you will not be coming back. Let us plan for our lives; save because in other countries, it is treasured. When I thought about being poor after a job, I decided to start farming in coffee and planting bananas,\u201d Kabushenga said.<\/p>\n<p>He told the MPs that they have an advantage of knowing when their job is ending, \u201cso you have the chance to prepare yourself\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Chairperson, Hon.
