{"id":4729,"date":"2018-06-27T00:48:59","date_gmt":"2018-06-26T21:48:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=4729"},"modified":"2018-06-27T00:48:59","modified_gmt":"2018-06-26T21:48:59","slug":"uganda-investment-authority-boss-suspended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2018\/06\/27\/uganda-investment-authority-boss-suspended\/","title":{"rendered":"Uganda Investment Authority Boss Suspended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Executive Director of the Uganda Investment Authority Ms Jolly Kaguhangire has been suspended by the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter dated June 26, 2018 and signed by Board chairman Emely Kugonza, the Executive Director was ordered to stay out of office for a period of 3 months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Uganda Investment Authority Board of Directors at its 51th meeting of 26. June 2018 held in the Uganda Investment Authority boardroom has resolved to interdict you from office for a period of three (03) months with effect from 26th June, 2018,\u201d reads the letter.<\/p>\n<p>The letter further states the reasons of interdiction as;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI. Abuse of office<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Insubordination:<\/li>\n<li>Misleading and lying to the Board,<\/li>\n<li>Non-compliance with implementation of the Strategic Plan in defiance of the directive of the Minister of Finance and Board of directors on the one year implementations<\/li>\n<li>Closure of a public office without authorization (UlA Namanve Office).<\/li>\n<li>Serious corruption allegations made by UlA staff against you that touch on your integrity as head of the institution and image of UIA.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The letter further informs Ms Kaguhangire that a select committee to investigate the allegations has been instituted<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Board has appointed a Select Committee to investigate the grounds of interdiction and you will be availed an opportunity to defend yourself before the Select Committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou are accordingly directed to hand over office to Mr Basil Ajer, Director SME STI who will act during the time of your interdiction<\/p>\n<p>During the interdiction and in accordance with the Public Service Standing Orders Section F.s .8, you will be entitled to half pay of your salary\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Executive Director of the Uganda Investment Authority Ms Jolly Kaguhangire has been suspended by the Board of Directors.
