Allegations of bribery and interference in their decisions undermine the principles of merit-based recruitment and public accountability.

The prosecution will be required to establish the allegations against Mubarak in court. The charges remain allegations, and the accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

The Anti-Corruption Unit has not indicated whether the two alleged accomplices have been arrested or when they will be produced in court.

Mubarak is expected to return to court on November 4, 2026, as the case proceeds.

A former LC III chairperson in Mukono District has been charged with corruption and criminal conspiracy over allegations that he conspired with two accomplices to defraud a job applicant of Shs38 million in a scheme to secure him a government medical officer position.
