President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has arrived at the Kololo Independence Grounds to officiate at a meeting of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Parliamentary Caucus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Museveni, who is also the NRM National Chairman, was received at the venue by Second Deputy Prime Minister Dr Crispus Kiyonga, members of the NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) and officials from the party secretariat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The party delegation was led by NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the NRM, the President is addressing the parliamentary caucus meeting, bringing together NRM legislators for discussions under the party leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting comes as the ruling party continues preparations for the new parliamentary term and the implementation of its political and legislative priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NRM has not yet released details of the issues on the agenda, but meetings of the parliamentary caucus traditionally provide a platform for the party leadership and legislators to discuss government programmes, legislation and party positions on key national matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Museveni’s address is expected to provide guidance to NRM legislators on the party’s priorities as Parliament resumes its legislative business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President’s appearance at the caucus also underscores the role of the NRM leadership in coordinating its parliamentary wing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
