He was rushed to Kibuli Hospital after sustaining serious injuries but later succumbed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police said a task team had been deployed to the scene to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack and identify those responsible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But fresh accounts from the scene are now pointing investigators towards a woman who was reportedly with Matovu shortly before his death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to an eyewitness account from the scene, Matovu allegedly dropped off a young woman at a house in the Kibuli area before entering the premises with her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The woman, whose identity has not been established, was subsequently seen being taken away by CID officers as investigations into the musician&#8217;s death intensified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The eyewitness described her as a young, brown-skinned woman but did not provide further details about her identity or her relationship with Matovu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"360\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 768 \/ 360;\" width=\"768\" controls src=\"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/VIDEO-2026-09-24-08-52-30.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New twist in murder investigation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The development introduces a new line of inquiry into what happened to Matovu in the final moments of his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, there is currently no official confirmation from Police that the woman is a suspect, that she was involved in the killing, or that the murder was motivated by a romantic dispute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It would therefore be premature to describe the case as a crime of passion until investigators establish what happened inside and around the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police have so far only confirmed that Matovu was attacked by unknown assailants and later died from his injuries.
