Both rap heavyweights were part of the elite English-rapping generation that shaped the industry.

The tension peaked in the early 2010s during the “Competition is Dead” era. On that massive collab, both MCs threw jabs over who truly held the crown for English hip-hop in Uganda. Atlas, who spent years in Canada, often flexed his international connections.

Atlas Da African may be AWOL from the rap game, but his impact is still massive — not just on fans, but on Uganda’s entire hip-hop culture, including fellow rappers.
