The program, now in its 20th season, will showcase Uganda for a full month on France 5, airing every Saturday evening after its debut broadcast on April 25, 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Known for highlighting lesser-known yet captivating destinations, the show brings Uganda\u2019s rich biodiversity, landscapes, and cultural heritage to millions of viewers across France and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hosted by renowned French journalist Isma\u00ebl Khelifa, the Uganda episode captures an immersive 11-day safari experience across the country\u2019s national parks. The documentary features activities such as gorilla trekking, wildlife game drives, and authentic cultural encounters, presenting Uganda as a premium travel destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project was funded under the Economic and Commercial Diplomacy Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Uganda and supported by the Uganda Embassy in Paris. Officials say the initiative is aimed at increasing Uganda\u2019s visibility and strengthening its appeal among French travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ahead of the national broadcast, Uganda hosted a high-profile premiere in Paris on April 16, 2026, at La Marina Des Maqeureaux. The event, led by Uganda\u2019s Ambassador to France Doreen Amule, attracted key tourism stakeholders including tour operators, journalists, and decision-makers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing attendees, Amb. Amule emphasized the importance of the exposure, describing Uganda as \u201cthe world\u2019s best-kept secret\u201d waiting to be discovered by French travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Filmmaker and host Khelifa praised Uganda as \u201ca true treasure of biodiversity,\u201d citing its welcoming people, abundant wildlife, and exceptional natural beauty as standout features of his experience filming in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Uganda\u2019s Head of Public Diplomacy, Margaret Kafeero, underscored the role of storytelling in influencing travel decisions, noting that a majority of French travelers are inspired by television content when choosing destinations. She commended the Uganda Embassy in Paris for tailoring content to suit local audience preferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Senior Brand Manager at the Uganda Tourism Board, Daniel Irunga, highlighted the strategic value of the premiere event. He said it created a direct and engaging platform to convert interest into tangible tourism partnerships, encouraging tour operators to include Uganda in their offerings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
