The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Odongo Jeje Abubaker, on Tuesday held talks with Upender Singh Rawat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kampala. The meeting centered on enhancing collaboration between the two countries and aligning positions ahead of key global summits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Discussions focused on Uganda\u2019s participation in the forthcoming BRICS Summit and the 4th India-Africa Forum Summit IV, both expected to take place in New Delhi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Odongo confirmed Uganda\u2019s attendance, highlighting the significance of these platforms in advancing both national and continental development priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe fora present an important opportunity for Uganda and Africa to engage global partners on issues of economic growth, trade, and sustainable development,\u201d the minister noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beyond multilateral cooperation, the two leaders explored opportunities to expand bilateral engagement in key sectors, including education, cultural exchange, tourism development, and information and communications technology (ICT). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
These areas were identified as critical to fostering people-to-people ties and driving innovation-led growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Odongo also commended Rawat for his role in strengthening practical cooperation between Kampala and New Delhi, noting visible progress in joint initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
