Uganda and T\u00fcrkiye have reaffirmed their strong bilateral relations, with a renewed commitment to expand cooperation in key sectors including trade, education, and infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, on Monday met with Mehmet Fatih Ak at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kampala, where the two officials discussed ways to strengthen ties between their countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a media release issued April 13, the meeting focused on enhancing economic cooperation and fostering stronger people-to-people connections, with both sides underscoring the importance of joint efforts in addressing shared challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Odongo said Uganda values its long-standing relationship with T\u00fcrkiye and is keen on building on existing partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRelations between the Republic of Uganda and the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye remain strong. I intend to meet Foreign Minister Fidan while in Antalya to have discussions on how to further strengthen our historical bilateral ties,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The minister is expected to travel to Antalya later this week to participate in the International Diplomatic Forum, where he will also hold talks with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the Kampala meeting, Ambassador Ak reaffirmed T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s commitment to deepening its partnership with Uganda, particularly in the areas of education and infrastructure development. He stressed the importance of sustained engagement to unlock opportunities for sustainable growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two officials also agreed to maintain regular dialogue to ensure progress on ongoing initiatives while exploring new avenues of cooperation that could benefit both nations and contribute to regional peace and stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
