According to the latest traffic update, the airport handled a total of 189,575 international passengers during the month, comprising 90,007 arrivals and 99,568 departures. This translates to an average of about 6,770 passengers per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The February figures mark a sharp rise of 39,387 passengers compared to January 2026, when the airport recorded 150,188. Year-on-year, the growth is equally notable, with February 2026 surpassing the 159,503 passengers recorded in February 2025 by 30,072 .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cargo volumes also posted steady growth. The airport handled 4,498 metric tonnes of cargo in February 2026, including 2,955 metric tonnes of exports and 1,543 metric tonnes of imports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This represents an increase from the 3,982 metric tonnes recorded in January 2026 and an improvement over February 2025 levels, which stood at a combined 4,546 metric tonnes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The upward trend in both passenger and cargo traffic signals sustained growth in aviation activity, supported by increased travel demand and trade flows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the outlook for March 2026 remains uncertain. Aviation authorities note that partial closures of Middle East airspace beginning February 28 have disrupted some flight operations from Entebbe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With only a phased reopening currently underway, several airlines have been affected, and passenger and cargo traffic is expected to decline in the short term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
