Three people have died and two others sustained severe injuries following a fatal road crash at the Impala Interchange along the Entebbe Expressway early Monday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Michael Kananura, the crash occurred at around 6:30 a.m. and involved a Toyota Land Cruiser registration number UBG 734S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Preliminary police reports indicate that the driver, identified as Ssenyonjo Bosco, a businessman and resident of Masaka, was travelling with members of his family towards the Entebbe side when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to speeding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police said the vehicle first rammed into the base of a streetlight pole before crashing into a road pillar and overturning several times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs a result of the crash, three occupants, including the driver, died instantly, while two others sustained severe injuries,\u201d Kananura said in an update shared on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Traffic Police officers quickly responded to the scene and evacuated the injured victims to Grade B Hospital for first aid before they were referred to another medical facility for further medical management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities extended their condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased and wished a quick recovery to those injured in the crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police have since urged motorists using the expressway to observe speed limits, remain alert while driving, and always maintain full control of their vehicles to avoid similar tragedies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
