In Jinja, similar interventions have helped farmers diversify into coffee, fruits, vegetables, dairy and aquaculture \u2014 sectors increasingly important for local employment and export potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Busoga sub-region has also seen significant progress in the fight against poverty through the rollout of PDM funds, with many parishes now financing small-scale enterprises for youth, women and vulnerable households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Education and Skills Development<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Jinja and Iganga have witnessed strong investment in the education sector under the NRM government. Upgrades to Universal Primary Education (UPE) and Universal Secondary Education (USE) schools have improved enrollment, while vocational and technical institutions in the region have expanded capacity to equip young people with employable skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Institutions such as Jinja Vocational Institute and others have been supported to align training programs with modern industry demands \u2014 including mechanics, welding, tailoring, ICT and agribusiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Health Sector Strengthening<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>NRM leaders also highlight improved access to healthcare across Busoga.
