Speaking during a press conference at Fort Fun City shortly after his nomination, Mugenyi expressed gratitude to NRM supporters and pledged to dedicate his campaign to youth empowerment, inclusive growth, and infrastructure development within the constituency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis nomination is a call to serve,\u201d Mugenyi said. \u201cOur priority is to create opportunities for young people to thrive and ensure that development reaches every household in Burahya. Together, we can build a stronger, self-reliant community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mugenyi\u2019s closest challenger, Richard Rwabuhinga, the Kabarole District LCV Chairperson, secured 14,916 votes in the primaries and has since declared his intention to contest as an independent candidate in the 2026 general elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The nomination ceremony drew a large turnout of NRM supporters, local leaders, and media representatives, officially signaling the start of Mugenyi\u2019s campaign under the ruling party\u2019s banner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Political analysts in Kabarole observe that Mugenyi\u2019s decisive win in the primaries has strengthened his position within NRM\u2019s structures, giving him a significant head start ahead of the general elections. His campaign is expected to hinge on addressing key community concerns, including youth unemployment, agricultural modernization, and improved access to social services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Mwanguhya Charles Mpagi, who contested in previous elections, has opted not to return to the race this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
