The nomination, held at the Commission\u2019s new premises in Lweza-Lubowa, was followed by a wave of celebrations both online and on the ground. Supporters took to social media to rally around the Head of State\u2019s bid, emphasizing stability, peace, and continuity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Running under the theme \u201cProtecting the Gains,\u201d Museveni\u2019s campaign is highlighting achievements made under his leadership, including infrastructure growth, peace, and social transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUgandans have witnessed progress that must be safeguarded. This election is about ensuring we don\u2019t lose what has been built,\u201d President Museveni said after his nomination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his nomination speech, the President once again thanked the NRM cadres for choosing him to be the party’s flag bearer in the 2026 General Elections. “NRM people need to see that all people are now involved for the next term of office. The involvement in money economy, free education for all, good roads, health, safe water, getting rid of corruption and exposure of crime & impurity,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Social media platforms were awash with messages of solidarity. Richard Todwong, the NRM Secretary General, invited citizens to join the celebration of Museveni\u2019s nomination, saying the moment was \u201ca reaffirmation of Uganda\u2019s unity and shared purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
