Dr. Martin Elia Lomuro, the Cabinet Affairs Minister, speaking on Tuesday, September 2, said the High-Level Committee on the 2018 Revitalized Peace Agreement, chaired by presidential advisor Kuol Manyang Juuk, has been engaging closely with electoral bodies to ensure preparedness for the polls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Dr. Lomuro, these electoral institutions have achieved significant progress even with limited initial funding. \u201cTechnically, our institutions have done very well. With the small funding that they received initially, they\u2019ve done a lot of good work,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Lomuro added that challenges remain\u2014most notably the need for decisive political and administrative responses\u2014but expressed optimism that a step-by-step funding approach would expedite the preparatory process. \u201cWe\u2019re going to encourage the Minister of Finance not to wait until they have the entire budget but to do it by instalment so that we can move forward,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
