Vice President Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Alupo has been officially nominated to contest in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primaries for the Katakwi District Woman Member of Parliament seat ahead of the 2026 general elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The nomination took place at the NRM Electoral Commission headquarters on Plot 13, Kyadondo Road in Kampala. It was presided over by the Commission Chairperson, in the presence of all commissioners and the NRM Secretary General, Rt Hon. Richard Todwong. The event affirmed Alupo\u2019s continued relevance and influence within the party\u2019s top leadership structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her nomination sets the stage for a closely watched primary race, positioning her among the front-runners based on her political experience and service record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will continue implementing the NRM vision and manifesto to ensure inclusive development,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Alupo also outlined key priorities from her 2026\u20132031 manifesto, including plans to establish a technical institute in Toroma County, construct a super-specialized hospital in Katakwi, and extend electricity and clean water to underserved areas.
