Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Secretary General Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi has officially declared his intention to run for president in the 2026 general elections, sending a direct and confrontational message to President Yoweri Museveni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking during a live interview on Elgon FM in Mbale on Thursday, Mafabi, the long-serving MP for Budadiri West, stated bluntly: \u201cTime is up. I\u2019m coming to remove M7,\u201d adding that Uganda deserves new leadership after nearly four decades of President Museveni\u2019s rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMuseveni should pack up his bags and head to his village in Rwakitura,\u201d Mafabi said during the broadcast. \u201cThis country needs fresh ideas, accountability, and leadership that serves the people\u2014not one man\u2019s legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mafabi\u2019s announcement sets the stage for what could be one of the most closely watched presidential campaigns in recent memory. A trained accountant and successful businessman, Mafabi has built a reputation as a fiscal hawk and political heavyweight within the opposition since joining FDC in the early 2000s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
