National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, also known as Bobi Wine, capped off the week with a series of political and cultural engagements across Kampala aimed at boosting party morale and grassroots mobilization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Friday, Kyagulanyi addressed party members undergoing training at the NUP Leadership School in Kamwokya, emphasizing the importance of political education and unity among the party\u2019s youthful base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NUP leadership school, launched as part of the party\u2019s capacity-building initiative, is designed to equip its members with ideological clarity, leadership skills, and organizational discipline ahead of the 2026 general elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Saturday, the opposition leader joined fellow mourners at a memorial mass for the late legendary musician Paul Kafeero, held at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Makindye. The mass honored Kafeero\u2019s contribution to Uganda\u2019s music and culture, particularly his role in shaping the traditional Kadongo Kamu genre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later in the day, Kyagulanyi officiated at the finals of the 6th edition of the NUP Footsoldiers\u2019 Football Tournament at Bugolobi in Nakawa Division. The tournament brought together party supporters and youth teams from different Kampala divisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The \u2018Firebase Army\u2019 team clinched the men\u2019s championship, while the \u2018Kampala Central\u2019 team emerged as champions in the women\u2019s category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The football tournament is part of NUP\u2019s broader youth engagement strategy, using sports as a tool to foster unity, discipline, and political consciousness among supporters at the grassroots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe continue to build a people-powered movement rooted in community, culture, and action,\u201d Kyagulanyi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
