The Electoral Commission has announced adjustments to the timeline for the display of the National Voters’ Register and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) Registers, a key step in preparations for Uganda\u2019s 2025\/2026 General Elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Originally scheduled from April 17 to May 8, 2025, the display of the National Voters\u2019 Register will now run from April 25 to May 15, 2025<\/strong>. This change aims to allow more time for preparation and effective participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The display period for the Voters Registers of Special Interest Groups\u2014namely Youths, Persons with Disabilities, and Older Persons<\/strong>\u2014has also been rescheduled. Initially set for April 17\u201328, 2025, it will now take place from April 25 to May 8, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Recommendations from Parish Tribunals regarding inclusions and deletions<\/strong> on the voters register will now be reviewed and displayed from May 16 to May 26, 2025<\/strong>, in accordance with Section 26(2) of the Electoral Commission Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n These adjustments align with the Electoral Commission\u2019s legal mandate under Article 61(1)(e)<\/strong> of the 1995 Constitution and Sections 18, 20, and 26<\/strong> of the Electoral Commission Act (Cap 176). They also reflect the Commission\u2019s ongoing commitment to a transparent and inclusive electoral process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Electoral Commission is calling on voters, political parties, and stakeholders<\/strong> to actively engage in the display exercises.
