Renowned vocalist Alexander Bagonza, popularly known as A Pass, has dismissed claims that he is leveraging his friendship with National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, to promote his upcoming concert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated event scheduled for January 31, 2025, at the Kampala Serena Hotel, A Pass clarified that while he admires Bobi Wine as an artist and values their friendship, his concert is purely about music and not politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am a big fan of Bobi Wine besides politics, and we are friends. But I don\u2019t want to use his name to promote my show,\u201d A Pass said. \u201cFrom my school days, I used to mime all Bobi Wine songs and those of the Fire Base singers. However, my show is not about politics.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The singer emphasized that his concert is open to fans from all political affiliations, stressing the unifying power of music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy show is for everyone who supports me whether they belong to the Democratic Party, National Resistance Movement, or National Unity Platform. I\u2019m an artist, and music is a different entity from politics. While we may have divergent political views, music brings us together,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing his relationship with Bobi Wine, A Pass highlighted their close friendship, revealing that they have visited each other\u2019s homes multiple times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have visited Bobi Wine at his home three times, and he has done the same at my place. That shows how close we are. I even plan to invite him to my concert if I get the time,\u201d A Pass added. \u201cDo you think he doesn\u2019t know that I have a concert?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The artist also reflected on his family\u2019s political diversity, noting that his mother has been a longtime supporter of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Pass urged his fans to focus on the music rather than politics, promising an unforgettable experience at his concert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
