Uganda and Pakistan have taken a significant step toward enhancing their diplomatic relationship by holding the inaugural session of Political Consultations in Kampala. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This milestone, which concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to solidify collaboration in political, economic, scientific, cultural, and technical spheres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The consultations, conducted in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, were led by Ambassador Charles Ssentongo, Uganda’s Chief of Protocol and Acting Permanent Secretary, and H.E. Mr. Hamid Asghar Khan, Pakistan\u2019s Additional Foreign Secretary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In preparation for the talks, the Pakistani delegation paid courtesy visits to Uganda’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Oryem Henry Okello, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ministers highlighted opportunities for partnership in agro-processing, mineral development, and ICT investment, expressing optimism about the growing ties between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis dialogue provides a framework to trigger a more vibrant relationship and unlock potential collaborations that benefit our countries,\u201d said Minister Odongo Jeje Abubakhar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The session marked a shared commitment to advancing bilateral relations and addressing mutual interests. Delegations explored opportunities for collaboration on key global issues, reaffirming their dedication to promoting peace, security, and economic growth in their regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ambassador Ssentongo emphasized the importance of translating aspirations into actionable initiatives: \u201cThese discussions set the stage for greater collaboration between both governments and our people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of their commitment to ongoing dialogue, Uganda and Pakistan agreed to convene the second round of consultations in Islamabad on dates yet to be determined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
