{"id":38711,"date":"2024-03-21T08:34:26","date_gmt":"2024-03-21T05:34:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=38711"},"modified":"2024-03-21T08:34:27","modified_gmt":"2024-03-21T05:34:27","slug":"it-is-election-day-in-dokolo-district","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/21\/it-is-election-day-in-dokolo-district\/","title":{"rendered":"It Is Election Day In Dokolo District"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today is polling day for the by-election of the Woman Representative to Parliament for Dokolo District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Polling materials for the Dokolo Woman MP By-election were dispatched to their respective polling stations at 3am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The materials were distributed by the assigned sub-county supervisors who are staff of the Commission escorted by police constables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Early dispatch of polling materials helps the commission to distribute them in time and enables early opening of polling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voting will take place at all the one hundred and seventy-three (173) polling stations in the district starting at 7am, and ending at 4 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A total number of ninety-five thousand six hundred and eighty-three (95,683) voters are registered for this by-election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Six candidates are contesting for the seat which fell vacant following the death of former MP, Hon. Cecilia Atim Ogwal on 18th January 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The candidates are: Adongo Janet Rose Elau Okello (National Resistance Movement, NRM); Ageno Harriet (National Unity Platform, NUP); Aguti Sarah (Uganda Peoples\u2019 Congress, UPC); Akullo Esther Obot (Independent); Alwoc Austin Ogwal Rosemary (Forum for Democratic Change, FDC) and Arao Rebecca (Independent).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today is polling day for the by-election of the Woman Representative to Parliament for Dokolo District.
