Rose Namayanja Nsereko, the party’s Deputy Secretary General, reported a smooth process on the first day. She personally visited registration points in Kampala and Wakiso districts, actively participating in member registrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Namayanja stressed the significance of member engagement, highlighting that only registered members would be eligible to vote in the structure and primary elections preceding the 2026 general elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the update, Namayanja stated, “the register will be printed and presented for scrutiny before returning to the national level.” She reiterated the party’s commitment to ensuring a fair primary process and addressing any concerns raised by members promptly. Registration is conducted only for those physically present to maintain accurate record-keeping in the yellow book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With satisfaction over the exercise’s progress, Namayanja assured the party would have a legitimate, certified register in line with its roadmap. Teams are deployed nationwide to ensure seamless execution, with no significant issues reported thus far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NRM National Treasurer Amb. Barbra Nekesa Oundo, updating her membership in Busia district, emphasized the process’s importance. “We will use the same register for our structure elections shortly,” she noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oundo urged members to verify their details accurately, aligning them with the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA)’s records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I urge everyone to utilize these five days to crosscheck their details in the NRM membership register,” she emphasized. “Remember, this is not a voter’s register but a register for party faithful aged 16 and above. Let’s approach this as a collective responsibility, with everyone playing a vigilant role.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
