The Honorable John Mulimba, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, held a productive meeting with Mr. Christoph Schmitt, Policy Advisor representing the Federal State of Saxony, Germany on February 14 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Kampala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The discussions centred on enhancing cooperation between the Federal State of Saxony and Uganda, particularly in areas related to women empowerment, climate change mitigation, and sanitation initiatives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minister Mulimba and Mr. Schmitt acknowledged the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing these pressing issues to benefit the Ugandan people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minister Mulimba expressed Uganda\u2019s appreciation for the longstanding partnership with the Federal State of Saxony and highlighted the significant contributions made by Saxony in supporting various development projects in Uganda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He emphasized the importance of leveraging such partnerships to advance initiatives aimed at empowering women, mitigating the impacts of climate change, and improving sanitation practices across Uganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Schmitt reaffirmed Saxony\u2019s commitment to deepening its engagement with Uganda and highlighted the state\u2019s expertise and resources in women empowerment, climate change adaptation, and sanitation infrastructure development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He underscored Saxony\u2019s willingness to share best practices and collaborate with Ugandan counterparts, including non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to address these critical challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting also explored potential avenues for partnership between Saxony and Ugandan NGOs specializing in women empowerment, climate change resilience, and sanitation projects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both parties recognized the pivotal role of NGOs in implementing grassroots initiatives and welcomed the opportunity to facilitate exchange programs and capacity-building efforts to strengthen their impact. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minister Mulimba and Mr. Schmitt concluded the meeting with a commitment to furthering cooperation between Uganda and Saxony in the identified priority areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
