The Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results for 2023 are anticipated to be announced by the Ministry of Education and Sports Janet Kataha Museveni today at noon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event\u2014which is expected to be televised\u2014will take place at State House in Nakasero and present the findings of the tests that were carried out from November 7 to November 9, 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The UNEB spokesperson, Jennifer Kalule, told our reporter on Wednesday night that the board has already briefed the minister as necessary and that the results are prepared for public release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
10% fewer PLE applicants were registered than in 2023, with 749,347 candidates spread across 14,153 testing sites. The examination organization did clarify, though, that this decrease is consistent with the average number of PLE candidates each year, except in 2023, whose numbers increased as a result of the absence of national exams in 2020 owing to COVID19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sixty-nine of the candidates who have registered are convicts of Luzira’s Upper Prison School. Male candidates accounted for 48% of the field, and female candidates made up 52%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With 501,619 applicants, Universal Primary Education (UPE) schools make up 79% of the examination centers. Non-UPE centers, with 247,728 candidates, make up the remaining 21%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, thirty percent are privately financed, while the remaining seventy percent are funded by the Universal Primary Education (UPE) Program. There were 2,580 applicants with special needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the results are announced, parents, candidates, and other interested parties can check them using Short Message Services (SMS) on mobile telecom networks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They can quickly retrieve the results by typing “PLE,” followed by a space, the candidate’s index number, and sending it to 6600.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Candidates who owe money for unpaid school fees, however, are unable to get the results using this manner. Their access has been prohibited by the Examination Board (Uneb) until their schools grant them clearance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the board courted the schools to let students with unpaid balances take the exams, it made this assurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
