The City lawyer is charged with using a pistol to shoot a watchman at King’s Park Arena in the Kakajjo zone of the Bweyogerere division of the Wakiso district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The detainees are accused of several crimes, including rape, defilement, murder, assault, and robbery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Luke Owoyesigyire, a deputy spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan Police, stated that the operation began on Wednesday of last week and was conducted throughout the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The gunfire<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n According to Owoyesigyire, a watchman named Nekeon Buruga, 37, died as a result of a gunshot on Saturday at roughly 23:13 hours at King’s Park Arena, a rugby club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He claimed that earlier in the day, Ahamya, the 47-year-old lawyer who is the suspected culprit and lives in Buziga, Makindye division of Kampala, took his kids to the rugby club for fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ahamya allegedly left his pistol at the entry with a police officer at first, but he later picked it up at around 22:00 hours in the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “He allegedly shot and killed Buruga by mistake while attempting to carry out a standard safety procedure with the magazine still in the weapon. After a thorough investigation, the Police opened a murder case as a result of the incident,” according to Owoyesigyire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He stated that Ahamya was taken into custody at Kira Police Division and that the killer weapon was confiscated for forensic examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He claimed that City Mortuary had received the deceased’s body for a post-mortem examination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n “Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting as they work to unravel the details leading up to this unfortunate event,” Owoyesigyre stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Recovered dead body<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n According to Owoyesigyire, homicide investigators in the Buloba, Wakiso area, have reported a troubling murder case following the discovery of a lifeless body estimated to be 34 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “The body, which had deep cut wounds, has since been conveyed to the City Mortuary for post-mortem examination, with investigations currently underway,” stated the official.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Sam Ahamya, a well-known city lawyer, and 982 other people are being held in holding facilities in Kampala as a result of a four-day police operation.
