{"id":37559,"date":"2023-10-20T11:26:22","date_gmt":"2023-10-20T08:26:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=37559"},"modified":"2023-10-20T11:26:24","modified_gmt":"2023-10-20T08:26:24","slug":"centenary-bank-worker-steals-shs100million","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2023\/10\/20\/centenary-bank-worker-steals-shs100million\/","title":{"rendered":"Centenary Bank Worker Steals Shs100million"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Centenary Bank Uganda has confirmed that one of their workers connived with thieves to rob over Shs100million from a client\u2019s account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a video that circulated on social media like wildfire, a woman is seen crying saying that her account is empty yet she has been posting her money in the bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a public outcry, Centenary Bank did an internal investigation that led to the netting of one of their workers who masterminded the plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFollowing the statement we shared yesterday concerning missing funds on a customer&#8217;s account, we wish to update the public that the investigations have been concluded,\u201d reads the statement from Centenary Bank<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement further reads; \u201cWe have discovered that there was connivance between a fraudster and one of our staff to make a PIN reset which enabled transactions at agents where funds were withdrawn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe staff has been taken for disciplinary action in line with our zero tolerance to fraud policy.
