Minister for Internal Affairs Rtd Major General Kahinda Otafiire has revealed that the latest terror alert issued by the United Kingdom about an impending attack on Uganda isn\u2019t new information to the Ugandan Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He stressed that Ugandan intelligence & security agencies had already gathered this information and the UK Government\u2019s alert simply confirmed what the Uganda team had known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The United Kingdom Government is a friend to Uganda. They alerted us to be careful because terrorists are about to attack us,\u201d said Otafiire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further revealed that; \u201cIt is a friendly gesture, what they told us, even us we had known about it, we had some information about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat I am asking Ugandans is to see to it that we protect ourselves and our places and report any person you suspect may do harm to Uganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is not the first time that terrorists are attacking us and it won\u2019t be the last, but it is upon us to protect ourselves,”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is worth noting that the United Kingdom issued an impending terror attack on Uganda and advised its citizens in Uganda to be vigilant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou should be vigilant at all times, especially in crowded areas and public places like hotels, transport hubs, restaurants and bars, and during major gatherings like sporting or religious events and when in close proximity to Government buildings or security installations such as police stations,\u201d reads the update on the UK website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The update further reads that; \u201cPrevious terrorist attacks and disrupted attacks in Uganda have targeted the security forces, places where football matches were being viewed, restaurants, buses and government buildings.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
