{"id":36073,"date":"2023-06-23T16:20:04","date_gmt":"2023-06-23T13:20:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=36073"},"modified":"2023-06-23T16:20:06","modified_gmt":"2023-06-23T13:20:06","slug":"police-arrest-chinese-national-behind-blq-betting-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2023\/06\/23\/police-arrest-chinese-national-behind-blq-betting-fraud\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Arrest Chinese National Behind BLQ Betting Fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Uganda Police has today 23.06.2023 arrested Mr Yinghe Chen aged 43 years of Chinese Nationality and a resident of UCB Zone in Bukoto 1, Nakawa Division in Kampala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This follows an interagency investigation by the National Cyber TaskForce into allegations of fraud&nbsp; by Acclaim BLQ Sports SMC, with its five (05) subsidiary companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Cyber Taskforce is comprised of CID, Crime Intelligence (CI), ISO, ESO, CMI, Bank of Uganda, NIRA, NITA Uganda, Uganda Banker Association,&nbsp; among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This brings the number of those arrested in relation to this fraud to five(05) people.\u00a0 On 11.05.2023, Police arrested Awori Mary, the wife to Mr Yinghe Chen and the registered Director of Acclaim BLQ Sports SMC. On 12.06.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"574\" height=\"1020\" src=\"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/BLQ1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-36074\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/BLQ1.jpg 574w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/BLQ1-169x300.jpg 169w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/BLQ1-360x640.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 574px) 100vw, 574px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Mr Yinghe Chen<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>2023, Police arrested Akoth Justine Oboth, Achola Mary, and Biira Shamim. These four suspects were all produced in court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The estimated number of victims stands at 6000 Ugandans with losses of over 4.5 billion shillings.
