People are urged to go for their first dental appointment, which is completely free, as part of our World Oral Health Day 2023 campaign, “Now Everyone Can #TalkToADentist.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At Mengo Hospital, IMC Kololo, Pan Dental Naguru, Pan Dental Buganda Road, UMC Bukoto, and Life Link Hospital in Ntinda, Pepsodent organized free dental check-ups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of their Now Everyone Can #TalkToADentist campaign, they have also held dental camps at St. Peters S.S. Nsambya and St. Josephs Girls S.S. Nsambya to raise awareness of the value of regular dental exams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Millions of individuals have never seen the dentist, not even once,” says Dr. Joseph Katusiime of Mengo Hospital, where over 100 people received free dental consultations thanks to Pepsodent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n To make a difference, we must make it simple for people to get expert information in order to take the first step toward better oral health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In order to avoid future expensive operations, this dental consultation activity will help patients change their behaviours and maybe motivate them to schedule more frequent check-ups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n World Oral Health Day is observed on March 20, every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The day aims to create awareness about the significance of oral health. It also tries to educate individuals about the different oral hygiene practices that one should be following on daily basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the year 2021, a three-year-long theme was launched for World Oral Health Day, that is, “Be Proud of Your Mouth.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n This year this theme focused on the importance of caring for your mouth at every stage of life. Brushing twice a day is considered as the primary step to keep your teeth healthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n World Oral Health Day 2023: Oral care tips you must know<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 1. Flossing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Flossing is considered as important as brushing. It helps get rid of food particles stuck between your teeth. Flossing also reduces plaque and lowers inflammation. Unlike brushing, flossing once a day is enough to keep your teeth healthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Tongue cleaning<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Your tongue can accumulate several unwanted particles which can lead to a bad mouth odour. Not cleaning your tongue can also lead to several mouth-related issues. Plaque can also build up on your tongue. Therefore, make it a routine to clean your tongue regularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3. Drinking water<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Something as simple as drinking water can help you maintain a healthy mouth. Drinking water helps clear food particles from your mouth. It also reduces the negative impact of acidic foods and drinks on your teeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4. Mouth washing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Using a mouthwash helps improve oral health in several ways. It helps clean the hard-to-brush areas of the mouth. It boosts gum health and reduces bad breath. A mouthwash may also help reduce the amount of acid in the mouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 5. Visit a dentist regularly<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n It is recommended to visit a dentist twice a year, even if you are not experiencing any dental issues.
