8 bodies of UPDF soldiers who were killed by Al-Shabaab militants have today afternoon been brought home.<\/p>\n
The remains were put in Military ambulance and transported to Bombo military hospital.<\/p>\n
Al-Shabaab militants on Sunday attacked based of UPDF soldiers in Somalia killing 8 and injuring many.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn Easter Sunday our soldiers in Somalia heroically gave serious blows to Al-Shabaab, killing 36 of them and destroying six vehicles full of explosives. This was because they were alert.\u201d Tweeted President Museveni before adding that; \u201cUnfortunately, two vehicles of the enemy entered one of the three sites attacked. One vehicle was detonated and killed eight of our soldiers. May their souls rest in eternal peace. I extend condolences to their families.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is gratifying, however, that the bold but adventurous strategy of Al-Shabaab failed. With constant vigilance, victory is assured. I congratulate our soldiers for the good work they did yesterday, the death of eight of our soldiers notwithstanding.\u201d<\/p>\n
AMISOM troops fought off and successfully repulsed the terrorists who had launched simultaneous attacks on Forward Operating Bases in Quoryole, Bulomareer, and Golwein.<\/p>\n
The militants were dealt a heavy blow, with at least 30 of them put out of action, following intense fighting.<\/p>\n
