Business in Wakiso District was on Friday briefly paralysed as Office of the National Chairman head, Senior Presidential Advisor Ms Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye joined NRM faithful to celebrate their belated liberation day celebrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hadijah, brainchild of the now popular “Omalako Jajja, Tova Ku Main” campaign sweeping across the country, was chief guest at Friday’s function that attracted a mammoth crowd in Kyengera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party politics, Wakiso district is one those considered “black spots” considering it’s performance in the last general elections. However, it appears that will not be the case in future going by Friday’s events in which Namyalo brought the district to a standstill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Activity began in the centre with boda boda riders and other motorists alike accompanying the woman now christened “Chief Muzzukulu” for her role in mobilising and rallying young generation Ugandans to President Yoweri Museveni. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Kyengera where the celebrations were held, Hajjat Hadijah found another group of bazzukulu clad in black and white T-shirts with the inscription “Omalako Jajja Tova Ku main, sigala ku ballot (Grandfather, you are able stay course on the main road and ballot paper) patiently waiting her arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bazzukulu braved the rainy and muddy day to make sure the ONC was given a welcome beffiting of her office<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The bazzukulu formed a guard of honor and wild cheers of “Tova ku main” that ushered in Hadijah who has now become the envy of main within NRM circles because of the success she continues to enjoy with the campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Superstitious people who believe rain is an sign of incoming blessing could have been proved right as an early morning down pour spoke volumes of a success that was Frida’s even<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moments before her arrival, bazzukulu formed a guard of honor to welcome Hadijah<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The celebrations brought together people from eight constituencies and 27 sub counties and had medical services available with food in plenty. The previous day, Hajjat Hadijah had donated an assortment of food times to aid in the preparations for the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waiting for her were a group of leaders who included the Wakiso District NRM Chairman, Hajji Abdul Kiyimba, the RDC Juliet Mbabazi and NRM Director of Mobilisation, Rosemary Seninde, herself citizen of Wakiso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A standby ambulance and health check tent was erected to attend to any health challenges. It was manned by the bazzukulu movement<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Seninde is one of the NRM politicians who fell victim to the National Unity Platform wave that swept across the larger parts of Buganda including Wakiso district, leaving beaten stalwarts in its wake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speakers praised Hadijah for ably handling the ONC which was previously little known as they also paraded a group dubbed “Benghazi” that was one of the notorious for intimidating NRM supporters before but had since converted, thanks to the ONC boss’ soft power skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When she rose to speak, the Chief Muzzukulu reiterated President Yoweri Museveni’s messages on wealth creation. She placed more emphasis on implementation of government programs like land grabbing, Parish Development Model (PDM) and emyooga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I want to assure you people of Wakiso that the president, our National Chairman has never sent anyone to evict people off their land,” Hadijah said amid in response to complaint that some people were using the president’s name to evict locals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a show of humility, Hadijah sat on her heels to listen to the concerns of people with disability as she promised to help find solutions to empower them economically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is already talk in the NRM corridors of power that they could bank on the event jumpstart the party’s fortunes in the district, thanks to Hadijah’s mobilisation skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
