<\/p>\nPresident Yoweri Museveni has blamed veterinary officers for the malfunctioning of acaricides in the control of livestock ticks.<\/p>\n
\u201cAcaricides were badly used and Veterinary Doctors did not play their roles. Do proper spraying and stop the vice of poor work which affects tick control. No one will be allowed to own cows without a crush. You should stop over grazing and instead do zero grazing which is more productive. In the free-range, a mature cow needs 3 acres of land per year for grazing. In a square mile of land which has 640 acres one cannot accommodate more than 200 cows. Under zero grazing there is no damage to the pasture. In this system one acre of land feeds 12 Ankole cows,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The President made the remarks today at Nshwerenkye Church of Uganda in Kiruhura District during Easter Day Service celebration where he was accompanied by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Museveni.<\/p>\n
President Museveni observed that in the cattle keeping areas there are 3 main challenges, namely tick control, damage to pasture and creation of a reserve of pasture. He said that the reserve can be created through good management of paddocks.<\/p>\n
Turning to celebrations of Easter, Mr. Museveni urged the congregation to support Nshwerenkye Church that was built by his wife Mrs. Janet Museveni and reminded them that religion entails love of God and respect to other people.<\/p>\n
He discouraged selfishness as he commended the youth for active involvement in the Nshwerenkye Church choir. He, therefore, encouraged parents ta take their children to Church and stop the habit of leaving them home when they go for worship.<\/p>\n

President Museveni advised the people of Uganda against land fragmentation practices adding that families should only share the proceeds from their consolidated pieces of land. He introduced to the Christians Mrs. Bagaza to the congregation.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Janet Museveni, on her part, congratulated the Christians for the celebrations marking the victory of Jesus Christ against death.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll the Christians have got the task of spreading the message of Jesus Christ. We must tell others about Christ\u2019s mission on earth. We must spread the word of God to those who do not know him,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
She used the occasion to appeal to parents desist from acts of sending their children to school without packed food for lunch.<\/p>\n
Rev. Emmanuel Twesigye, who led the Easter service, reminded Christians to fully appreciate the resurrection of Jesus Christ as an important pillar in the journey of their faith.<\/p>\n
He saluted President Museveni for serving all the people of God in Uganda and further commended him for his role in the building of nearby Kaaro Secondary School. He also thanked the First Lady for effectively promoting education in the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
