A team of Joint security forces in Karamoja have recovered three support weapons which the Karimojong cattle rustlers had taken from soldiers whom they killed during operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The guns were recovered on Sunday morning at 8am in place called Okilliling in Abim district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Micheal Longole, the Karamoja regional Police spokesperson said the guns were recovered after a tip off by concerned community members in Abim district. He said the rustlers took the guns from soldiers whom they attacked and killed last Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Our soldiers were on routine patrol in the area but they landed in an ambush laid by Karimojong warrior’s and killed three soldiers before fleeing away with their guns,” says Longole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said no suspect was arrested adding that the criminals took off and abandoned guns after seeing soldiers and police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Longole named the guns recovered as RPG no 1353, PK no m8018cn- 10549 and PK no 18cn08746. He applauded the community for giving information to the security forces for the recovery of guns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Joel Okidi, a resident of OKililing village said the recovery of guns was a relief to the people in the area adding that the criminals were going to terrorize the entire region using those guns. “Imagine the guns they took are the most dangerous guns which the forces are using as support weapons in the war,” he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another resident Martin Okweny asked the security forces to track and apprehend the criminals so that the community remains safe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
