Gerald Ssendaula and Ms. Florence Nsubuga,\u00a0Chief Operation Officer.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, President\u00a0Museveni stopped the renewal of the power\u00a0distributor\u2019s (Umeme) deal and demanded for answers on why\u00a0consumers\u00a0 are still paying high rates for electricity.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter to the Energy Minister, Hon.\u00a0 Irene Muloni, the President also directed that\u00a0 a cheaper option of modernizing, expanding, transmitting\u00a0 and distribution of power, be found.<\/p>\n<p>He further asked the Inspector General of Government (IGG), Ms. Mulyagonja, to investigate Umeme&#8217;s alleged inflated losses and high end user tariffs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Yoweri Museveni has met and held discussions with four officials from Umeme, led by their Board Chairman, Mr. Patrick Bitature, who called on him this evening at State House Entebbe.
