{"id":3408,"date":"2018-03-27T10:28:22","date_gmt":"2018-03-27T07:28:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=3408"},"modified":"2018-03-27T10:28:22","modified_gmt":"2018-03-27T07:28:22","slug":"kayihura-dragged-to-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2018\/03\/27\/kayihura-dragged-to-court\/","title":{"rendered":"Kayihura Dragged To Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former IGP Gen Kale Kayihura has been dragged to court for refusing to retire a police officer.<\/p>\n<p>Through Kiwanuka, Kanyago and company advocates, detective Assistant Inspector of Police (D\/AIP) Nelson Mungasa filed a suit at the Civil Division of the High Court.<\/p>\n<p>He says that in 2016 Kayihura blocked his resignation from the force.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wrote to Kayihura through the DPC Jinja road Police station seeking to resign from the force in July 2015,\u201d says Mungasa before adding that;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanted to participate in the 2016 general elections but my dreams were shattered by Kayihura who rejected my request.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mungasa wanted to contest for Kigenyi county MP seat, Kapchorwa district in 2016<\/p>\n<p>Mungasa now wants court to make Kayihura pay for damages incurred as a result of not standing for the desired political seat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former IGP Gen Kale Kayihura has been dragged to court for refusing to retire a police officer.
