The Police in Mukono has arrested Maj. Vincent Byaruhanga, for alleged murder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Saturday Maj. Byaruhanga of Lugazi Engineering Brigade allegedly commanded a group of youths that attacked a rival group hired by Hussein Lukwago and Nuru Musoke to secure land boundaries and also evict the family of the late Sam Kasozi from land in Nama Sub County, Mukono District. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the attack, Innocent Masinge was hacked to death, and his body dumped in the contested land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Maj. Byaruhanga was hired by Ssozi Musisi, the heir of the late Kasozi who was also arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Onyango says that the police have forwarded their files to the State Attorney for perusal and legal advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Musisi and Musoke have been involved in fights over approximately thirteen acres of land for over ten years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Musisi notes that his late father bought the land but they were surprised to see Musoke coming up to claim the same land. He notes that they visited the land office and also the title had changed and despite lodging a complaint, they failed to repossess ownership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lukwago says they genuinely bought the land from the late Joseph Musisi Bakiranze, who was a neighbor to the late Sam Kasozi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last month, Mukono High Judge, David Matovu ordered both parties to halt activities on the contested land until a hearing of the main application.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
