{"id":32321,"date":"2022-08-10T12:02:24","date_gmt":"2022-08-10T09:02:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=32321"},"modified":"2022-08-10T12:02:26","modified_gmt":"2022-08-10T09:02:26","slug":"police-bursts-notorious-car-stealing-racket","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2022\/08\/10\/police-bursts-notorious-car-stealing-racket\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Bursts Notorious Car Stealing Racket"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Directorate of Crime Intelligence in coordination with Crime Intelligence Mukono and the Territorial Police in Mbale, has carried out an intelligence led operation, that has led to the arrest of two prime suspects, who form part of the criminal racket, actively involved in the theft and robbery of motor vehicles, from parking lots, streets, functions like funerals and parties, places of worship, bars and clubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The task team started its operations on the 5.07.2022, from Nkonge in Mukono, following the robbery of motor vehicle registration number UAP 778G, that led to the arrest of Nsubuga Mukwaya Hassan, from Wobulenzi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He led the task team to the arrest of Musisi Alex alias Mark Butyampa, of Bulijjo village, Kiyunga Parish, Kyampisi sub-county in Mukono district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The suspected stolen motor vehicle, was recovered from Wobulenzi with a forged number plate UAM933G, after the original number plate was removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was further established that criminal gang was behind most of the vehicle thefts and robberies in Kampala, Mukono, Luwero and other parts of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They would change the original plates with cloned number plates ( a process they call baptizing) and sell the stolen cars to Kisule Juma alias Jajja Mbale alias Muwada Juma alias Walusimbi Juma alias Wambedde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Th operation was expanded to Mbale with the help of the two suspects and led to the recovery of 16 motor vehicle in total, that are suspected stolen, from different parts of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recovered vehicles include; Toyota Noah formerly with registration number UAP 778G, changed to UAM933G, Toyota Spacio \u2013 UAX 578M, RAV 4 \u2013 UAJ635G, Subaru UAG 242Z, Premio \u2013 UAU 911C, Premio \u2013 UAQ 742D, Noah \u2013 UAR 509K, Ipsum \u2013 UAN 794Z, Isuzu Tipper 2 ton \u2013 UBA 784U, Toyota Passo \u2013 UBG 044G, Premio \u2013 UAU 406A, Ipsum \u2013 UAP 772D, Ipsum \u2013 UAP 735B, Premio \u2013 UAT 287H, Toyota Starlet \u2013 UAN 223Y, Toyota Regius \u2013 UAN 706R, and Toyota Pickup \u2013 UAH 436J.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"564\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/racket-564x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-32322\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/racket-564x1024.jpg 564w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/racket-165x300.jpg 165w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/racket-768x1394.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/racket-846x1536.jpg 846w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/racket-360x654.jpg 360w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/racket.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 564px) 100vw, 564px\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Directorate of Crime Intelligence in coordination with Crime Intelligence Mukono and the Territorial Police in Mbale, has carried out an intelligence led operation, that has led to the arrest of two prime suspects, who form part of the criminal racket, actively involved in the theft and robbery of motor vehicles, from parking lots, streets, [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":27983,"featured_media":32324,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"jnews-multi-image_gallery":[],"jnews_single_post":[],"jnews_primary_category":[],"jnews_paywall_metabox":[],"jnews_override_counter":[],"footnotes":""},"categories":[105],"tags":[31,119,2093],"class_list":["post-32321","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-crime","tag-featured","tag-uganda-news","tag-uganda-police-force"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
