The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Among has called upon staff of Parliament to serve the institution with dedication and commitment by not only putting personal growth first, but also the growth of the Institution that represents interests of the people of Uganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Speaker made the call as she launched an open arm initiative dubbed \u201cMeet Your Speaker\u201d which seeks to build, maintain, and strengthen the relationship among staff of Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meetings are also intended to empower and boost morale of staff in the institution in order to increase productivity and be able to serve the citizenry better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In her opening remarks, Among emphasized the need for teamwork, and cautioned staff against forming cliques that inculcates negative energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn this Parliament, you are all equal; no one is above the other. As such, we should all be able to work collaboratively to deliver on our mandate. I also want to caution you to refrain from forming cliques that breed unnecessary conflict, and evidently affects the efficiency of this institution.\u201d She said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among also cautioned staff from involving in partisan politics while executing parliament duties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Clerk to Parliament, Adolf Mwesige appreciated the initiative by Speaker which he said will create synergy and increase productivity, and implored the staff to dedicate more efforts to ensure that
Parliament achieves its vision and mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The staff were visibly excited to interact with the Speaker and many couldn\u2019t hide their joy as they expressed different ideas and fronted solutions to the challenges they face in Parliament.
The meeting which will take two days has been dedicated to all departmental staff below Assistant Director levels.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
