Prominent leaders in the National Resistance Movement party who hail from Kasese district have come out to preach unity and cohesion, a message they believe will be core during the Busongora South by-election that is due on 18th August this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One after another candidly emphasized that the upcoming poll has been a blessing to the leaders in disguise since it has brought unprecedented coordination and coherence to all NRM factions that disagreed before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During a press conference held on Wednesday by leaders after a meeting of the Kasese NRM District Executive Committee that was facilitated by party director of communication, Emmanuel Dombo Lumala, the State Minister of ICT in charge of National Guidance,Godfrey Kabyanga said: \u201cI have observed unprecedented unity and harmony of all party leaders right from the ministers, members of parliament up to the grass root mobilisation structures.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI would like to commend the district executive committee and all the distinguished leaders of Kasese who unanimously agreed to support and campaign for the candidature of Mr Thembo Gideon Mujungu,\u201d Kabyanga said as he addressed the media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the same spirit, former minister and incumbent Kasese district NRM chairman, Dr Chripus Kiyonga said they have intensified their efforts in explaining the NRM government manifesto to demystify the lies of the opposition and winning back the pending parliamentary seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOpposition for long fed our people with nothing but lies. I want to tell them that the time is over. We have already traversed villages, and held meetings in a bid to explain the achievements of our government and what they intend to do to ensure transformation and assured prosperity.\u201d Dr Kiyonga stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Thembo Gideon Mujungu, the Busongora county south NRM flagbearer said he enjoys the majority vote but urged his supporters to remain calm amidst provocation from unfriendly forces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Director of communication at the NRM secretariat, Hon. Emmanuel Dombo Lumala who facilitated the DEC meeting welcomed the remarks of reconciliation and togetherness of the leaders saying this rightly fits the party ideology of patriotism and the cherished values of consensus building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dombo who has camped in the area for the next few days said the mass party is determined to maintain its supremacy by emerging victorious in all by-elections that are underway across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Going forward, Dombo will convene similar meetings with sections of women and youth leaders, members of the informal sector, and opinion leaders among other groups to capture diverse views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the party spokesperson, the ongoing pre-campaign activities will among others put in place a formidable task force to comb support for and popularize the NRM candidate. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
