President Museveni has contributed Shs80 million towards the construction of Mary\u2019s House at Bugembe Cathedral in Jinja district, appealing to the clergy to be ambassador of Parish Development Model (PDM)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President\u2019s support was delivered by the Minister for Presidency, Milly Babirye Babalanda and handed it over to the Bishop of Busoga and the President of Mother\u2019s Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RDCs contributed of Shs3,360,000 towards the construction and also other leaders present including Ministers and MPs contributed Shs7million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Babalanda who represented president Museveni, led a delegation of RDCs and other dignitaries to the celebrations of Mother Mary organised by Mothers Union at Bugembe cathedral, Jinja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President of Mothers Union informed the congregation that their union intends to build a mega structure called Mary\u2019s house at Bugembe Cathedral and they are therefore launching the mobilization of funds and resources towards implementation of this project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Babalanda urged the Christians and the clergy of Busoga Diocese to embrace the PDM program that the government has implemented at Parish level to transform the 39% of Ugandans in the subsistence sector to the commercial economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She informed the Christians to work closely with RDCs and RCCs in the successful implementation of that program, adding that this will help in the improvement of people\u2019s lives in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She appreciated the role played by religion in uniting the people in communities and thanked Mothers union of Busoga Diocese for the infrastructural project that they intend to build at the cathedral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She cautioned the leaders for believing in deals and corruption instead of working for the People and being accountable to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the issue regarding teacher\u2019s strike, Babalanda implored them to go back to class and teach as the government mobilises resources to enhance their salaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She urged parents to play their role of taking children to school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She informed the community that as leaders in Busoga they intend to hold a meeting with investors in Busoga so that they can be acquainted with the available resource base for the communities to ably engage in business with investors through provision of the raw materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gume Fredrick, the Minister of Cooperatives, thanked the Minister of Presidency for ensuring that Busoga shares the National cake and rallied Basoga to support her.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
