{"id":30875,"date":"2022-05-31T20:35:55","date_gmt":"2022-05-31T17:35:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=30875"},"modified":"2022-05-31T20:35:58","modified_gmt":"2022-05-31T17:35:58","slug":"security-arrest-16-suspected-marijuana-plugs-smokers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2022\/05\/31\/security-arrest-16-suspected-marijuana-plugs-smokers\/","title":{"rendered":"Security Arrest 16 Suspected Marijuana Plugs &#038; Smokers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kakumiro police are holding 16 suspected marijuana smokers and dealers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The suspects were rounded up in a joint crackdown by the police and the Uganda Peoples Defense Forces-UPDF from Dangalo cell in Igayaza town council in Kakumiro district Monday night.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Security also recovered 8 sacks of marijuana during the operation. The suspects were immediately whisked to Kakumiro central police station where they are currently locked up.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Major David Matovu, the Kakumiro Resident District Commissioner-RDC who commanded the operation, says that he was prompted to act following a rise in criminality in the district.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He says cases of burglary, murder,&nbsp; rape, and house break-ins among others are on the rise in the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John Baruri, the Igayaza town Council LC 3&nbsp; Chairperson, says there is a need for more operations in the area because of the many wrong elements terrorizing residents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kakumiro police are holding 16 suspected marijuana smokers and dealers.&nbsp; The suspects were rounded up in a joint crackdown by the police and the Uganda Peoples Defense Forces-UPDF from Dangalo cell in Igayaza town council in Kakumiro district Monday night.&nbsp; Security also recovered 8 sacks of marijuana during the operation.
