olice in Busoga North has arrested a 50-year-old resident of Busamo village, in Kamuli district for chopping his ex-lover\u2019s 13-year-old son to death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is reported that the man identified as Yusuf Mukisa stormed the house when his ex-lover, Elizabeth Mbwali was away and chopped off the head of her son Benjamin Mugaya. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The other two children; Prossy Babirye and Joan Kaudha sustained injuries and are now receiving treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gwaliba Sarah, an area resident says that the incident happened at around 4:00 am on Sunday. The neighbours were woken up by alarms and overheard the children crying for help. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When they rushed to the scene they found them in a pool of blood and rushed them to the hospital while Mukisa was arrested while attempting to flee from the village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She explains that the mother of the deceased ended her relationship with Mukisa over domestic violence, prompting her to move on with another man. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But\u00a0 Mukisa kept threatening her with revenge for causing him humiliation in the village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moses Kaggwa, the GISO of Butansi says that the two decided to separate after failing to resolve their grievances during the several harmonization meetings held with the area leaders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He adds that the relationship was short-lived because Mbwali could not withstand the violence meted out on her by the man.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kaggwa further challenged village chairpersons to conduct background checks on new residents before allowing them to stay in their communities, which he says will limit crimes of this nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Busoga North\u2019s Police Spokesperson Michael Kasadha says that the suspect is now detained at Kamuli Central Police Station, awaiting prosecution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
