The Rwandan government has suspended the Miss Rwanda beauty pageant following last month\u2019s arrest of its organiser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It follows investigations of sexual abuse against Dieudonn\u00e9 Ishimwe, the chief executive of Rwanda Inspiration Backup, which organises the contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Ishimwe was arrested last month\u00a0on allegations of sexual abuse of contestants. He has not responded to the accusations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Ministry of Youth and Culture informs the general public that the Miss Rwanda beauty pageant has been suspended pending completion of investigations,” Rwanda\u2019s culture ministry said in a statement on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
