There was panic at Entebbe International Airport on Tuesday afternoon after a fire outbreak was reported in the passenger terminal building leading to smoke in the passenger waiting lounges near gate 2A and 2B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Civil Aviation Authority has indeed confirmed the fire outbreak and described it as a minor incident in a released statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA minor fire broke out in the ceiling of the passenger Terminal Building at Entebbe International Airport (Departures area) leading to smoke in the Passenger Waiting Lounges near gate 2A and 2B at about 3:00 pm this afternoon,\u201d reads the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement further reads that; \u201cPassengers and all the other users of Entebbe International Airport were immediately evacuated as the UCAA Rescue and Fire-fighting Services team handled the situation, which was normalized by 3:45 pm. Passenger operations have since resumed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe incident did not lead to any casualties. The source and cause of the fire is being investigated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
