President Museveni has revealed that he has been making a mistake by not signing death sentences for prisoners that have committed high level crimes.<\/p>\n

While opening the annual judges\u2019 conference at Speke Resort Munyonyo under the theme ; An Inclusive Judiciary for Sustainable Development<\/strong>,<\/em> Museveni revealed that in our society, we believe in the Law of Moses; eye for an eye.<\/p>\n

\u201cI saw some NGOs agitating against the death sentence. In a pre-Industrial society like ours removing the death sentence is a recipe for chaos,\u201d said the president before adding that;<\/p>\n

\u201cIn our society, we believe in the Law of Moses; eye for an eye. I have been making the mistake of not sanctioning these death sentences, I am repenting.\u201d<\/p>\n

The president then thanked the Chief Justice Bart Katureebe for bringing in new innovations in the judicial system.<\/p>\n
