The Chief Political Commissar of Uganda Police Force, Asan Kasingye, has assured the people of the greater Masaka to have hope because the police and its sister security agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He emphasized that they are on top of the situation and will bring down all criminals behind the attacks on members of the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kasingye who is in Masaka region as part of his rectification and ideological orientation tour met with teams of senior officers from Kalungu district to find lasting solutions to the insecurity caused by bijambiya criminals in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The intelligence is on ground. Operations are going well. The Police is also using community policing approach to talk to the police officers and the public to mobilise them so that they are the first line of defence and protection against the criminals. This will be solved very quickly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He explained that the investigators are doing a good job and 11 people have appeared in courts yesterday and more case files will be processed to face court, calling for increased trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have arrested about 70 suspects and 11 taken to the courts of law in relation to the Masaka murders. Ugandans need to trust us and know that they play a big role by sharing details about any suspicious persons,” he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Kasingye, the Masaka murderers are well organised and the way they operate is like they are terrorists with an element of robbery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPoliticians have been saying the police is doing nothing. The public deserves an explanation. We are not going to be talking much about our operations, but we need the public to know that we are doing something. I want the people of Masaka to know that this will end, and those involved in killing people will all be caught, and they will face the law,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that as police, they want people to work together through community policing adding that their success so far is due to public cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll voices should be towards amplifying security, not criticizing. I heard some leader say it is the police killing people in Masaka. This is not the time to make such statements. We are still gathering more intelligence. Our aim is to stop what is happening and prevent it from ever happening again,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
