Following the voices from different people including the politicians regarding the reopening of schools, the State minister for Primary Education, Dr Moriku Kaducu has said that the government will ponder on the gradual reopening of learning institutions after that of medical schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Museveni left schools on lockdown and emphasized that the ministry of education and sports together with the Ministry of Health, will sit and discuss on how to ease on schools lockdown and advised to start with medical schools immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking to the media on Tuesday,\u00a0 Kaducu revealed that the two ministries are meeting to see the way forward regarding the reopening of medical schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTomorrow(today) we are having a meeting, we will discuss the reopening of the medical schools after that we will discuss the gradual reopening of the other schools. I request for the patience but we will reopen schools in a phased manner ,we will begin with the medical schools,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said the First Lady who is the Minister of Education and Sports Janet Kataha Museveni together with her cabinet will have the first meeting and the gist is on opening up medical schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kaducu advised the parents, teachers and students to be patient at the moment saying that the government is thinking about their future since there are the next generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“After opening the medical schools, we will soon open the other schools. For the meantime we are asking for patience from the students, parents and the teachers. Closing schools doesn\u2019t stop learning, as a parents make the learning environment to be conducive, \u201dshe advised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recently Kaducu said schools\u2019 reopening will depend on vaccination of all teachers and university students, a drop of the positivity rate to 5 per cent and prospective students taking mandatory self-paid Covid-19 tests prior to reporting to school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen we receive the doses of vaccines we are expecting, teachers and university students will be given priority. When we do this, no one should complain,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
